When you hire with Simple Van Hire, we will ensure your van is prepped for your destination country. Your hire van will also undergo a pre-hire vehicle service to make sure all engine fluid levels are correct and, furthermore, ensure all brake pads and discs are of a suitable standard. Your abroad van hire will have RAC European breakdown cover included, so you can rest easy knowing we have your back.
When choosing Simple Van Hire for your European trip, we recommend allowing a minimum 72 hour period for administration and to allow insurance to clear your van hire. You will also need to provide the following documentation for us to process your hire:
- Driving Licence (front and back imagery required)
- National Insurance proof
- Utility bill dated within the last 3 months and showing your current address
- Passport
We strongly advise that you:
- Plan your route well in advance of departure off your trip and avoid any unexpected obstacles such as road closures and toll roads (Simple Van Hire does not accept liability for any fines due to unpaid tolls and/or contraventions throughout your van hire)
- Be prepared for different road conditions. Depending on the country you’ll be driving in, the road conditions may differ from what you’re used to. Be prepared for narrow roads, steep hills and driving on the opposite side of the road.
- Check country driving laws! Different countries have different laws. Make sure to familiarise yourself with the laws of the respective country you’re travelling through. This includes speed limits, road signs, and any specific requirements for driving a van.
